SPEEDKORE DEBUTS MID-ENGINED DODGE CHARGER DAYTONA CONCEPT

Sometimes we see concept renderings that look almost too real, and this new concept from the mad minds at SpeedKore had us doing a double take. The vision is a restomod of a NASCAR legend, with a mid-engine and intention to take on Le Mans. The Dodge Charger Daytona concept was conceived by Digital artist Abimelec Arellano who is a master of making renders where people have to look at it twice once they hear that it’s a drawing.

SpeedKore Mid-Engine Dodge Charger Daytona: Concept Details

According to Top Gear, the idea started with SpeedKore’s epic mid-engine Dodge Charger, created for a movie based around fast cars and family. The actual vehicle that was built has a 700-horsepower Hellcat V8 mounted behind the front row. Power is sent to a rear transaxle through a Lamborghini six-speed manual. It’s an epic car, and if something similar were to be repeated for this concept, it would be too.

The Dodge Charger Daytona concept design features a shorter front overhang, a lengthened rear window, and the gigantic and iconic Daytona-spec wing and nose cone. Every part of the design has racing in mind, and it’s possible that this concept was crafted by the man that created a mid-engined Mopar. When car coordinator Dennis McCarthy began working on the mid-engine muscle car for F9, he stated that he was a big fan of the Le Mans era of vehicles. Thus, we have the birth of this concept.

SpeedKore is still working on coming up with a name for the mid-engine Dodge Charger Daytona. While it’s still unclear if they will turn the car from concept to reality, they have time to mull it over. Though they’ve given us cars that feature the Hellcat name in some manner, such as the Hellacious and Hellucination, whatever they decide to go with may be something of that nature. The name aside, the car will be epic if it’s made real, and we certainly hope that is the next step.
