It’s been a little over three months since the Ford F-150 Lightning began production, and the automaker has recently made customer deliveries in all 50-states. Yes, even tropical and remote Hawaii and rugged, frigid Alaska, showing that there’s at least some demand for an electric full-sized truck just about everywhere.
Ford says that its customer base is exceedingly pleased with their experience with the all-electric pick-up truck. Most of Ford F-150 Lightning order holders, we know, are either new to the brand altogether or making their first EV purchase. One such customer, Chris Ashley, who is a first time electric vehicle buyer himself shared with the company that “The Lightning is the best thing I have ever purchased.”

Other Lightning owners like Emre Gol of Texas, told Ford that “this truck is a workhorse.” Emre also shared with Ford that he took advantage of the Lightning’s charging cross compatibility with other EV’s and that he’s already used it to save his wife who was low on power in their all-electric sedan.
Texas and California are the truck and EV capitals of America and as such have seen the most amount of deliveries thus far, not a surprising statistic given the first wave order data CEO Jim Farley shared with us earlier this year.
According to Ford, up to this point, one of the most talked about features of the vehicle is its “frunk,” a cargo space usually reserved for an internal combustion engine. The 400 liter cargo space can accommodate multiple golf bags and carries a max payload capacity of 400 pounds. On top of that the frunk comes standard with an onboard 2.4 kW power source via four electrical outlets and two usb chargers that enable you to charge your tools, or power a tailgate.
