2023 FORD TRANSIT TRAIL OFF-ROAD OFFICIALLY TEASED FOR AMERICA

Camping has long been a form of escape from the concrete jungle. Today the once hobby has become a way of life for a growing number of people. Whether you’re into the #vanlife or just enjoy frequenting the outdoors more than anything else, Ford has teased us that the Ford Transit Trail will be here sooner than later to accompany you on your journeys.

This week, it was made official that the Ford Transit Trail would be “coming soon” for the USA market. In a Ford Press release, we’re told that “soon” means next month. Considering Ford Motor Company won’t officially be at the 2022 SEMA Show, it’s likely that the Transit Trail reveal will be a standalone event.

Overseas, the Ford Transit Trail is nothing new in Europe. However, the USA market will likely have a few unique features, particularly with what’s under the hood. The teaser image shows yellow cab lights, and a Ford Blue Oval badge (the Euro-spec model has a Raptor-like “FORD” grille), while we also expect upgrades to the tires, as well as plastic cladding to the side skirts and fenders to protect the body from rocks chipping the paint.

Precursors that Ford was readying a Transit Trail launch in its homeland include a USPTO paper trail from earlier this year, while others have even spied it in action, testing on American soil shortly thereafter. Ford says that this new offering will provide a “turnkey canvas” straight from the factory for a #vanlifer or others like them.

One of the spy photos of a red Transit Trail and accompanying window sticker found earlier this year also tell us to expect the van to be all-wheel-drive and have a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine option for $1,775. The European model features a 2.0L diesel engine but we’re doubtful that makes its way into the American market. Also revealed, was that the van will come with two batteries and an auxiliary fuse box.

In terms of pricing for the Transit Trail, the window sticker of what appears to be a base model shows an MSRP of just under $55,000 ($54,830). We will have to wait until next month to learn if that is an actual starting price or not.
