Since the sixth-generation Ford Bronco has hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2020, it has made itself a common sight on the roadways across America. Be that as it may, the next-generation Bronco is already on the horizon, but not for some years. Moreover, so is a Bronco EV.
According to Bronco6G forum member Simmy, who shared AutoForeCast Solutions newly published vehicle product map, the current generation Bronco will end production in October of 2029. In November of 2029, the seventh-generation Ford Bronco is expected to start production, and will last until 2036. Fourteen years from now. Moveover, it will maintain the mid-sized, body-on-frame architecture that it sees today with the Ford T6 Platform. This architecture also underpins the Ford Ranger.
In tandem, Ford will also launch the first-ever Bronco EV in November 2029. This also means that Big Blue won’t bother with a Bronco hybrid of sorts, as was rumored. Then again, the S650 Mustang was a rumor, too, only for Ford to officially say there never was one in the first place.
While the gasoline variant of the 7th generation Ford Bronco will be built at the Michigan Assembly Plant like today, AFS notes that the Bronco EV will spawn out of Ford’s upcoming super factory: a $5.6 Billion battery and vehicle manufacturing campus, named Blue Oval City. Moreover, the battery electric vehicle Bronco and it will ride on a different architecture, dubbed the TE1 platform. This architecture will also be shared with a Ranger BEV.
Should everything pan out as planned, that means that the 6th-generation Ford Bronco will remain in production for another six years. That’s plenty of time to save up for a mighty Bronco Everglades or Bronco Raptor, and just enough time for Ford to sort out all of the supply kinks.
