For the 31XX-2 generation trucks, GM looked to streamline the lineup compared to the outgoing Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. In doing so, the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado and 2023 GMC Canyon are offered in just one body style and three variations of one engine. As such, customers can no longer order a baseline extended cab truck. They’re now all crew cabs, with only a short bed. This does affect the base MSRP a bit, as we see with the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado build and price configurator, which launched today.
For example, the outgoing base Chevrolet Colorado WT comes in at $27,630 USD. The new Colorado WT starts at over $3,000 more, at $30,695 USD. Granted, you’re getting a lot more content. And nobody is going to miss that 200 hp, 2.5L four-cylinder that you got with the base truck, either. The new Colorado WT comes with a 2.7L L2R turbo engine, delivering 237 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, which is 69 more torques than before. The interior is also greatly improved, with larger, modernized digital color displays, wireless Apple Carplay, and push-button start.
Next up is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado LT, which rings the bell at $33,095 USD. This unlocks keyless entry, second row ventilation, power windows, front center console, remote locking tailgate, standard 8-speed automatic, and more. The price change is a $2,665 increase from the last-gen 2022 Colorado LT crew cab with a short box. This is also where the base 2.7L L3B turbo engine comes standard, with 310 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. If customers want to upgrade their L3B to a high-output calibration, dealers will have the ability to do so for just $395 USD.
For the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss – the first time it’s been offered as a standalone trim level and not just a package, you’re looking at a minimum of $38,495 USD before options. With that you get the standard output L3B turbo engine, four-wheel-drive, locking rear differential, hill descent control, two-speed transfer case, Goodyear Wrangler tires, and a two-inch lift.
The 2023 Colorado Z71 now comes in at $41,395 USD, which is $2,400 USD more than the Z71 crew cab with a short box from before. The new Colorado Z71 comes with all of the adventurous hardware found in the Trail Boss, plus a 120-volt power outlet in the truck bed, and nice interior and exterior touches.
If you want a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 (and who doesn’t?), that will run you at least $48,295 USD. That’s a price jump of just under $2,000 USD compared to a 2022 Colorado ZR2 crew cab with a short box ($46,695 USD). Here, customers get a standard high-output L3B with 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The interior is also loaded, while the exterior gets 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, rocker panel protectors, a standard spray-on bedliner, and a unique set of 18-inch wheels.
Opting for the ZR2, customers can approach $70,000 USD by indulging in things like the Desert Boss Special Edition package ($9,295 USD), off-road Recovery Package ($2,495 USD), and other things like yellow seatbelts and a power sunroof. With roughly $25,000 in options selected, our 2023 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 came out to $69,844 USD. That’s over $4,000 more than the base price of a 2023 Corvette Stingray. Go a size up, and a Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 asks $73,395 USD, while a Ford F-150 Raptor currently starts at $76,775 USD.
