DID GM JUST TEASE THE NEXT-GEN CHEVROLET SILVERADO?

The General Motors Design team maintains a presence on social media. Though it’s sometimes riddled with the Detroit automaker’s real-world creations or behind-the-scenes features before products hit the market, it also sits as a place of dreams. As a result, some imagined design projects are way too cool for GM’s own sake. One such design that recently dropped on GM Design’s social media is a “mean and green fresh take” on Chevy’s trucks dropped by designer Ben Wilkins. It could very well be a peak at the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado.

Next-Gen Chevrolet Silverado Sketch: Details

Though the Chevrolet Silverado saw a refresh for the 2023 model year, the rugged edges of this green design sketch appear epic. The front end is similar to the new GMC Sierra, though different enough to stand out as a separate vehicle. The grille is smooth, and the fenders pop. Lastly, we note that this particular sketch focuses on a Z71 package, though minor tweaks could be done to adjust the truck for different trims. Either way, this is an actual work of art, and we can see something similar making its way into production for the next-generation Silverado.

And are those squared wheel arches? HMMM.

Of course, you may argue that the Silverado EV is the next-generation truck, given that the entire automotive industry is shifting significantly towards electrification. But, the companies’ goals still need to be completely pushed into that realm. They still need to make money, and most people are looking to buy ICE vehicles and hybrids over electric ones, especially when it comes to a full-size truck for work or off-road use. So, what do you think of this sketch? Could it be a glimpse of the next Chevrolet Silverado?

In regards to the next-generation ICE Chevrolet Silverado (and GMC Sierra), here’s what to expect: a debut around the 2026 model year, new engines, and even more cutting-edge technology.
