2023 PAXPOWER JACKAL TAKES THE CHEVROLET SILVERADO ZR2 TO NEW RIDE HEIGHTS

Since GM doesn’t have any plans to build an F-150 Raptor fighting truck or even something that will go against the Raptor R, fans of the Chevy truck have to look for alternatives to their high horsepower Chevy Silverado needs. Of course, you could opt for the Blacklake XT1, which is packed with everything you could ever want for an off-road truck and more, but it would set you back about $200,000. Or, the new PaxPower Jackal Silverado comes in as a significantly starting point with enough power to take on the apex predators of the full-size truck market. And for 2023, the team’s added visual updates to the lineup, as well as the ability to modify the Silverado ZR2, as well.

New PaxPower Jackal Silverado: Details

The PaxPower Jackal Chevrolet Silverado can be built from any crew-cab, short-box Silverado and starts with the standard body panels being removed and replaced with new ones. The new panels add 8 inches of width to the pickup and include aggressively-flared wheel arches. Should customers decide to take the truck a step further, an assortment of hoods and off-road bumpers are also available.

From here, PaxPower replaces the suspension of the Chevy Silverado with fabricated boxed steel control arms that widen the track by 6 inches and boost ground clearance by 3 inches. The trucks also have been equipped with 2.5-inch front coilovers, and rear shocks from King Racing Shocks with remote reservoirs and adjustable dampening. But that’s not all, as PaxPower has added Deaver progressive-rate leaf springs to the truck.

Like the Ford F-150 Raptor R and Ram 1500 TRX models, the Jackal Silverado sits on new off-road wheels that measure 17 inches in diameter with 35-inch or 37-inch BFGoodrich tires wrapped around them. At the back, a Borla stainless steel exhaust system is also available to give the truck more sound appeal.

Of course, you can’t take the fight to the ultimate trucks with the stock power output of the Chevrolet Silverado, which is why PaxPower now offers a 3.0-liter supercharger mated to the 6.2-liter V8 to boost power to 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. This variant includes a high-flow air intake, a separate cooling system, and even a tuned ECU. If you’re not looking for high power numbers but just a fantastic truck capable of taking on any trail you throw at it, you can also opt for Chevy’s 3.0-liter diesel, 5.3-liter V8, and the 6.2-liter V8 without the supercharger.

As for pricing, it has increased slightly since the Jackal was first introduced in 2020. A complete 2023 Jackal Silverado build starts at $24,950, plus the donor 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2. In addition, the supercharged system adds $12,450 to the sticker price if you’re looking for more power. Finally, if you own or have ordered a Silverado ZR2, PaxPower offers a Jackal conversion that adds $19,950 to the price of the off-road-oriented truck.
