Every now and then NASCAR will make slight tweaks to the tracks its drivers race on and that’ll be the case this weekend at the Nashville Superspeedway. The change will be the direct result of a wreck last year that could have been significantly worse, causing plenty of consternation in the sport about why a certain area on the superspeedway was not safeguarded. The spot in question is on the infield track around the first turn in the track. In 2023, Ryan Blaney made damaging contact with the inside track after being spun out. His car careened directly into wall head on, leaving his entire fro...

Another elite name in racing is set to join Kevin Harvick this weekend at the Five Flags Speedway, with Chase Elliott appearing on the official roster for the event on Friday night. Elliott will be rocking the No. 9 car, sponsored by FR8 Racing, Hendrickcars.com and the Chase Elliott Store. He’ll be driving a Chevrolet, like Harvick. It’ll be a nice change of pace for Elliott, who is right in the thick of the NASCAR Cup Series race. Elliott currently has 620 Cup Series points, tied with Kyle Larson for the lead. Larson currently holds the tiebreaker edge, though. Chase Elliott has already won ...

Kevin Harvick had some issues with how NASCAR handled the Cup Series race in New Hampshire once it began raining. On Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour podcast, Harvick revealed what NASCAR should have done differently. “When the rain started, they should have thrown the caution and said ‘Come in, do what you want to do. The pits are open non-competitvie.’ Maybe have a situation where we have the odd pit stalls come in first, we have the even pit stalls come in second, ” Harvick said. Keep half the cars off of pit road. Let them change the tire, and whatever NASCAR decides is the tire that you’re on, ...

The much-ballyhooed addition of Chase Briscoe to the Joe Gibbs Racing team in the No. 19 car is now official, and the stakes are high for the newest JGR driver. He knows it. So does his team. Briscoe laid it out in no uncertain terms in his introductory press tour. “If I don’t win, then the way I look at it is as my career is probably over, because if I can’t perform at this caliber of a race team, then why would any other owner take a chance on me?” Briscoe said. Briscoe will certainly get the chance to prove he’s an elite driver now, coupled with an elite team. He’s shown quite a bit already...

Since Kyle Busch’s departure from the race team in 2022, Joe Gibbs Racing has kept the No. 18 number in the closet. With Martin Truex Jr. retiring from full-time competition following the 2024 Cup Series season and Chase Briscoe taking over in 2025, some thought there was a chance JGR would bring back the No. 18 car for the former Stewart-Haas Racing driver. As we know now, that won’t be the case. Briscoe will drive the No. 19 car sponsored by Bass Pro Shops. Gibbs said Tuesday that Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris has a huge influence on the No. 19 remaining part of the rotation, as it wi...

The odds for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series title have been updated following a landmark USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. In an effort to beat the rain, NASCAR pushed the green flag up a bit, but Mother Nature had other plans for the sport. Tyler Reddick was leading, but after a red flag with 82 laps remaining, the wet weather tires were put on to finish the race, and Christopher Bell charged to the front and wouldn’t be denied. It was Bell’s third win of 2024, and it elevated him all the way up to P2 in the Cup Series Playoff Standings, only behind Kyle Larson. Now, the NASCAR Cup S...

After having the season finale there for so so long, it just doesn’t feel right to put it anythere else in the season. Kind of was fun to have it in the playoffs a...
