For as much as attention as there is year-round on the SEC, baseball and softball season have become just as big for the league as anything else. With the postseason that each sport has had in the conference, it’s just something else that Commissioner Greg Sankey gets to be proud of. Sankey discussed the month that his conference has had on the diamond during an appearance on ‘The Paul Finebaum Show’ on Friday. He described how great it has been to have all four teams that have or will compete for the national titles in each respective sport be current or soon-to-be members of the Southeastern...

Elba (Ala.) four-star Alvin Henderson didn’t choose Auburn when his decision rolled around on April 11. Penn State beat the Tigers, but that only fueled Hugh Freeze, Derrick Nix and Co. to charge that much harder to keep the blue-chip burner in state. Auburn continued to make Henderson a top priority. He returned to The Plains and continued to communicate with the staff. Freeze’s efforts have now paid off, as the 5-foot-9, 165-pounder has flipped to the in-state school from the Nittany Lions. “Auburn is home,” he told On3. “I really appreciate Penn State and I love it up there and their coache...

Auburn was considered the school to beat for Elba (Ala.) four-star running back Alvin Henderson for much of his recruitment leading into his decision this April. Some late momentum swung in the direction of Penn State, however, as the Nittany Lions picked up a major pledge from the 5-foot-9, 195-pounder. The Tigers haven’t taken their foot off the gas, though. Henderson has been to The Plains plenty throughout his recruitment and has continued to feel like a top priority to head coach Hugh Freeze and RBs coach Derrick Nix. On Thursday, On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons each logged picks in...

Some 30 years after the technology debuted in the NFL, in-helmet communications for all FBS games will begin this fall in college football. It took nearly a decade of lobbying for the coach-to-player comms to get approved, but back in April, the NCAA officially green-lit the green dot for CFB. Similarly to the NFL, only one player on each side of the ball (a quarterback and middle linebacker or safety) will have the radio in their helmet, designated by a green dot. The coach-to-player communication will be shut off with 15 seconds remaining on the play clock or when the ball is snapped, whiche...

The 2024 season didn’t go how Auburn wanted it to on the diamond, but they’re hoping to change that next season. On Monday, Auburn landed a transfer commitment from a very highly touted player, getting the commitment from former ECU outfielder Bristol Carter. He played in 56 games with 46 starts, primarily playing left field. He profiles more as a center fielder, and spent some time there during the season as well. Carter was name...
