Actions, not words. That’s the motto of a handful of military units throughout the world. My personal connection is through Combat Logistics Battalion 3, the U.S. Marine Corps unit at Kaneohe Bay, on the North Shore of Oahu, where my son was based for several years. For long-suffering Nebraska football fans who are hopeful at the reintroduction of familiar Hawaiian blood into their program, it’s been an increasingly urgent theme ever since Scott Frost proclaimed during Big Ten Media Days in 2018 that “they’d better get us now,” but consistently failed to back up those lofty words. By the midpo...

Nebraska offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield said he understands fans' frustration with the team's quarterback play, but he preached patience during Tuesday's post-practice press conference. "We may not be playing at an elite level right now," he said, "but y'all don't see what I see as far as how they come to work and the energy that they practice with and the preparation that they do. The teammates they are. It's really cool. This group is getting better and better and better, and our best days are ahead of us and I think they're coming soon. I can't wait to see all this come to fruitio...

Fixing the fumbles has been a top priority since Nebraska running backs flirted with disaster by coughing up the ball twice in the fourth quarter against Illinois on Oct. 6. Nebraska offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield said Tuesday that Anthony Grant had a "really good week" in that regard. "He's one of the most talented running backs in our league," Satterfield said, "but if you can't hold onto the football, now you start messing with wins and losses." Grant and backup Emmett Johnson each turned the ball over in the late going against the Fighting Illini. Johnson too has since done a goo...

It was fall football weather Friday night in Champaign as the visiting Nebraska Cornhuskers rode a strong defensive performance to defeat the Illinois Illini 20-7. Nebraska improved to 4-0 in Friday night road games since 2017 and snapped a 3-game losing streak against Illinois. Nebraska hadn’t won a game going into its bye week since 2016, a 31-16 over Illinois. Coincidentally, that season was also the last time the Huskers qualified for a Bowl. Thanks to two stops inside the 1-yard line on Illinois’ opening possession, the Blackshirts set the tone early as to how difficult it was going to be...

On the first day of Fall, the Nebraska Cornhuskers used a strong second half performance to build a lead before weathering a game stoppage and then held off the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs to win 28-14. It was a sloppy game for both teams even though the rain didn’t appear until the fourth quarter and a lightning strike caused a 56-minute weather delay. Husker fans need to take wins any way they come -ugly or not. The Huskers once again started strong on defense and were slow out of the gate on offense. Louisiana Tech was scoreless in the first quarter, marking the fifth time in the past six games...

Nebraska coach Mickey Joseph shores up the wide receiver corps after the departure of Samori Toure and Zavier Betts. *There's nothing to fear but a wide receiver who can run a 100 yard dash in under ten seconds\.*__Franklin D\. Roosevelt__ Wide Receivers It's apparent that when WR assistant coach Mickey Joseph came to Lincoln in January, he didn't like what he saw in the wide receiver room. And with the departure of Samori Toure (NFL) and Zavier Betts (retirement?), Joseph knew the Huskers had some holes to fill. It seems Nebraska has done just that. What did Frost & Company do? They looked at...
