SHELBY AMERICAN CELEBRATES CARROLL'S 100TH BIRTHDAY WITH CENTENNIAL EDITION F-150

The Carlisle Ford Nationals in Pennsylvania fired up today. And while Ford Performance stole the headlines with its FP700 package for the F-150, it was quickly one-upped by Shelby American. Today, the world-famous performance shop that’s long specialized in Ford products revealed the 2023 Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition F-150. The truck celebrates what would be Carroll’s 100th birthday, and only 100 of these collectable pickups will be built for the US market.

While known for his legacy involving the Ford GT40, Mustang and Cobra, Carroll Shelby also experimented and built various performance trucks and SUVs over the years. According to Shelby American, Carroll “played with the Ford Bronco on his West Texas ranch during the 1960s, pioneered the mid-size performance pickups in the 1980s and created the muscle trucks in the early 2000s.” A concept Shelby Expedition was also revealed in 2004.

Today, Shelby American builds more trucks than it does Mustangs.

The 2023 Shelby Ford F-150 is based on a Lariat SuperCrew trim with 4×4 and a 5.0L Coyote V8 engine. The standard output will be 400 hp, with an optional supercharger taking things to 800 hp. The chassis also sees upgrades such as Fox internal bypass shocks (like a Raptor) that also feature adjustable dual speed controls.

The interior of the 2023 Shelby F-150 Centennial Edition features two-toned leather, unique logos, the official Shelby serial number and Shelby floor mats. Deep tinted windows are also standard.

Starting MSRP for the 2023 Shelby F-150 Centennial Edition will be $129,495 for the 400 hp version, and $138,495 for the 800 hp supercharged version. Each come with a 3 year/36,000-mile warranty including powertrain.

Each Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition F-150 includes membership in Team Shelby, the worldwide club established in 2008, and will be eligible for documentation in the official Shelby Registry. The package includes a black Stetson hat and a copy of the commemorative Shelby Centennial Book published by Team Shelby.

Carroll Shelby passed away on May 10, 2012, at the age of 89. Also honoring the automotive industry legend, the upcoming Goodwood Revival will also celebrate 100 years of the chicken-farmer-turned-performance-shop-owner.
