One of the most incredible things about trucks and SUVs is their versatility. With the right mods, you can make these vehicles suit your needs. One great example is Fun Haver Off-Road‘s latest creation, the El Bandito Ford Bronco. This Bronco was built to have fun in any situation Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Loren Healy could dream up. Be it drifting, jumping, or anything the desert could throw at it. The name “El Bandito” pays homage to the outlaws in the past who would roam Mexico and the American Southwest, a classy title for a classy truck if there ever was one.
Fun Haver Off-Road El Bandito Ford Bronco: Details
The Fun Haver Off-Road El Bandito was an early marketing unit destined for the crusher but was saved and given a pretty epic alternative. Ford Performance’s crate-powered 5.2L engine powers this off-road machine, the same that could be found in the previous generation Ford Mustang GT500, producing around 760 horsepower in the epic muscle car. That number has since been modified to an astounding 1,000 HP thanks to a massive Whipple 3.8L supercharger. Saying that’s a lot of power may be an understatement, but there’s more to this build than an epic engine; it also needs to take on the dunes of the desert, which is where the FOX-controlled suspension setup comes into play.
The Fun Haver Off-Road’s El Bandito utilizes the same suspension design by Trito Engineering that mirrors the Fun-Haver Off-Road team’s Ultra4 Racing Broncos, 20-inch travel front and 26-inch rear. FOX 2.5 Coil Overs with 3.5/4″ bypasses and 2.0 bumps help ensure a smooth ride in the open desert while offering crawl capabilities when faced with rock challenges. Other modifications include a 92″ wide track width and 120″ wheelbase, Wildwood brakes, Fun-Haver Off-Road 20″ double bead locks with 42″ Nitto Trail Grapplers wrapped around them. The entire exterior was built with FHOR-designed fiberglass. Of course, we can’t forget the warn 9.0 RC winch, factor 55 recovery equipment, project X HP.70 light bar, and ff.70 headlights.
El Bandito first appeared at the 2023 SEMA Show, where it was caught burning through the Nitto tires.
