'Magic' Messi-like £34m player Tottenham reportedly wanted in January now says he dreams of PL move

In January, Tottenham Hotspur were linked with an exciting Serie A player who has drawn comparisons with Lionel Messi.

Now, the player in question has given the likes of Spurs a huge boost ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ahead of the January transfer window, Calciomercato reported that Tottenham had set their sights on Juventus loanee Matias Soule.

Although nothing came of the speculation, the 22-year-old – on loan at Frosinone – has revealed that he is now dreaming a move to the Premier League.

Soule has told DS Radio that Al-Ittihad were hoping to sign him, but he turned the offer down. He also said he’d like to have a chance at Juventus.

At the same time, the Argentine prodigy also revealed that he would love to play in the “fantastic” English top flight at some point.

“Yes, they wanted me from Saudi but I decided against that move,” said Soule, as relayed on Fabrizio Romano’s X account. “I’d like to have a chance at Juventus, for sure.”

Soule then revealed how much he’d like to play in the English top flight, saying: “My dream is to play in Premier League one day, it’s just a fantastic league.”

Tottenham may well fancy their chances of signing Matias Soule – opinion

Tottenham have struck gold numerous times when it comes to signings from Serie A, and they’ve already done a fair bit of business with Juve.

Soule is a top talent who has gone from strength to strength on loan at Frosinone, and it remains to be seen what his future holds at his parent club.

The 22-year-old has registered an impressive 10 goals from just 27 Serie A appearances for the central Italian outfit.

Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout previously described the reported Tottenham target as a ‘Messi-esque’ talent who ‘can really produce magic’.

Meanwhile, Claudio Ranieri is quoted by Tuttomercatoweb as saying: “When you have champions like Soule who shoot like Maradona or Zico, you just have to applaud him.”

All in all, the £34million-rated ace looks like a good shout for Spurs. Let’s see whether there are any developments in the coming months ahead of a big summer transfer window.
