Tottenham eyeing swoop for 24-year-old playmaker who James Maddison is a big fan of

Tottenham Hotspur are now eyeing a potential summer swoop for a midfielder who is already highly regarded at Spurs.

Spurs have shown they are keen to pick up players from clubs who may be suffering financially with Brennan Johnson.

And it seems they could be looking to replicate the deal for the Welshman this summer with another Nottingham Forest player.

Tottenham interested in Morgan Gibbs-White

According to TalkSPORT, Spurs are keeping tabs on the 24-year-old playmaker ahead of the summer transfer window.

It could be a summer of sales for Forest who have already found themselves in hot water over fincancial breaches.

But it is not just Ange Postecoglou’s side who are said to be interested in the Englishman with West Ham also credited in the report.

The midfielder is said to be a player who fits Postecoglou’s mould and the two clubs hold a positive relationship following the deal for Johnson.

What did James Maddison say about Gibbs-White

Last summer, the sale of Johnson has seen Forest fall short of the regulations having held out for more money from Spurs.

The 22-year-old is said to have received interest and even an offer from Atletico Madrid, but Forest held out for the offer from Tottenham.

But this is a deal which saw Spurs part with £47.5m for Johnson and has seemingly formed a good relationship between the two clubs.

Gibbs-White has been a key figure in the Forest side since joining and has returned three goals and five assists in the Premier League.

He is a player who James Maddison has admitted he is a big fan of already.

After winning the U21 European Championships with England, Maddison responded to Gibbs-White’s celebratory post on Instagram. He said: “Congrats mate!! Brilliant tournament.”

Gibbs-White is a player who has already shown he can play across a multiple roles in the attacking half of the pitch.

A player of real versatility could appeal to Spurs and Fabrizio Romano has already claimed the club will look to sign a ‘special’ midfielder this summer.
