What Pedro Porro said about his future

The 24-year-old has played a huge role in Ange Postecoglou’s side since joining last year under the tenure of Antonio Conte.

Having been purchased as a right-wing-back, Porro has made the transition to Postecoglou’s system look effortless.

However, he is a player who has reportedly caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs with Real Madrid and Barcelona credited with an interest.

Speaking to the same outlet, Porro admitted he can see himself returning to Spain one day. He said: “In football you never know. Today you are playing there and tomorrow you can be playing somewhere else. Being Spanish, of course, I would like to come back and enjoy La Liga. When I played here in Primera, I enjoyed it very much and I hope one day to return, of course.”

What Ange Postecoglou recently said about Porro

It has been a really impressive campaign for Porro so far. The 24-year-old has been able to return one goal and eight assists for Spurs.

This type of form is what has earned him a spot back in the Spanish national side having not featured since this time last year.

He is not the only Spurs player who has received a call up from his nation with numerous players jetting off all over the world.

Although he will be hoping his players all return without injury, Postecoglou has hailed Porro in the wake of his Spain call-up.

He said: “Brilliant and well deserved. He’s been outstanding all year. He’s worked awfully hard on his game, you know, on both offensive and defensive side.”

And at the age of just 24, Porro looks like a real option for Spurs over the long-term future at right-back.

The Spurs News has been told Postecoglou is looking to add at full-back this summer, but the Australian is looking to add depth rather than replacing Porro and Destiny Udogie.

One name which has been named as a potential summer target is the former Spurs man Kyle Walker-Peters.
