Tottenham fans are all saying the same thing after Dane Scarlett’s hat-trick for England U20s

Tottenham Hotspur fans witnessed their young striker Dane Scarlett score a hat-trick for England U20s on Friday evening.

The 19-year-old was called up to the England U20 squad despite having a turbulent season with a lack of game time.

However, he was certainly able to provide the goods on Friday when he was given the nod to start against Poland.

What Tottenham fans said about Dane Scarlett

It has been an extremely difficult season for the young striker who had initially spent the first half of the campaign out on loan with Ipswich Town.

However, the move to the Championship side was not one that worked in Scarlett’s favour as he ended up back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January.

Scarlett had played just 145 minutes of action in the Championship and failed to get on the scoresheet.

But he was able to net three goals on Friday in England’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Poland’s U20s side.

And his hat-trick saw Spurs fans take to social media to hail his efforts and they were all saying the same thing…

What has been said about Tottenham’s striker search

A big few months seems to be ahead of the Lilywhites when it comes to deciding who is the man to lead the front line.

Richarlison has been in fine form in recent months, but there has been suggestions clubs from Saudi Arabia could come in again for him this summer.

And The Spurs News has been told he is a player who Tottenham would consider selling this summer if the right money is offered.

A number of names have been linked with a potential swoop from the Lilywhites.

One name which has been mentioned by reliable journalist Alasdair Gold is that of Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

The England international looks set for a possible exit from the west London club this summer with just one year remaining on his current deal.

Gold said: “I do wonder whether Spurs – in classic Spurs-style – look at a player with a year left on his contract and think, ‘you know what…’. And in that system, he would get so many goals. I wouldn’t rule that out entirely, Ivan Toney.”

If Spurs are to bring in a big money striker signing this summer, it will be interesting to see where that leaves Scarlett.

The youngster clearly has a lot of potential, but whether he is ready to cut it in the top leagues of men’s football is a question that remains to be answered.
