Matt Turner sends three-word message to Gio Reyna after Nottingham Forest duo win silverware

Matt Turner and Giovanni Reyna were both in action last night as they bid to get over their Nottingham Forest frustrations.

The duo were in the starting eleven as the USMNT took on Mexico in the final of the Concacaf Nations League.

Both players have fallen down the pecking order at Forest, with Turner and Reyna both on the fringes of Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.

Still, the players were called up by the national team it appears both players remain integral in the eyes of Gregg Berhalter.

Last night, Reyna scored and claimed the Best Nations League Player, with Turner scooping the Best Nations League Goalkeeper.

It represented a nice change of pace for the two players and now both Turner and Reyna must be hoping to get another chance at Forest.

It would seem as though the pair are pretty close and after last night’s game, goalkeeper Turner had some positive words for Forest teammate Reyna.

What Matt Turner said about Giovanni Reyna after USMNT victory

Well, it was a vintage performance from Reyna last night as he showcased what Forest are missing by not picking him.

The 21-year-old scored a stunning goal as the USMNT ran out 2-0 victors in the final to get their hands on silverware once more.

Reyna has played for just 39 minutes at Forest and right now he must be wondering why he even bothered signing for the club.

He’s adored by the United States public and after the game last night, Turner posted a three-word message on Instagram to his Forest teammate that read: “What a player.”

Nuno Espirito Santo must now pick Reyna for Forest

Okay, the USMNT play pretty weak opposition in their version of the Nations League but ultimately, Reyna has to get a Forest chance.

Turner is right when he says that Reyna looks classy and now is the time for Forest to give him an opportunity.

It makes zero sense for Espirito Santo to utilise Divock Origi on the flanks when he has a player like the youngster sat on the fringes.

Reyna looked like an attractive signing when he swapped Dortmund for Forest in search of more games.

The talented player has been a popular figure with the Bundesliga outfit, making 121 appearances despite his tender years.

Forest are struggling for goals right now and as a result, it seems only right that Reyna earns himself a start in the coming weeks for his temporary club.
