Forest approached 28-year-old who wins more headers than Murillo and he could leave this summer - Romano

Nottingham Forest tried to sign Fabricio Bruno last year and now some more information about his future has come to light from an extremely reputable source.

It seems certain that Forest will go in search of another central defender when the transfer window opens. There is optimism that the club will still be in the Premier League but reinforcements will be required regardless.

Murillo has been linked with a move to Liverpool ahead of the summer. Willy Boly is a player who could be handed a new Forest contract, whilst Felipe has announced his retirement.

That would leave Andrew Omobamidele and Moussa Niakhate as central defensive options. Joe Worrall may also come back into the fray, with his loan at Besiktas not proving successful.

Nottingham Forest target Fabricio Bruno now considering exit

Fabrizio Romano is a man with his fingers firmly on the pulse of the breaking transfer stories. Now, he’s claimed that Bruno could be on his way out of Flamengo this summer.

Romano has claimed on X that the 28-year-old would be keen on a move to Europe. A year ago, Forest came forward with an offer, with Wolves, Atalanta, and several clubs in Saudi Arabia also keen.

It would appear as though Bruno is now ready to move on from Brazil – despite only signing a new deal with Flamengo. Still, he’d be allowed to move if a club bid between £10 and £15 million this summer.

Who is Fabricio Bruno?

The left-sided central defender will perhaps be seen as a decent replacement for Murillo should he leave Forest. Looking at some statistics of the two players, that might not be a bad shout.

Squawka shows that Bruno won 27 headers last season from just 13 appearances. For context, Murillo has won 26 from 23 appearances so far this season.

Bruno has made 101 appearances for Flamengo and won the Copa Libertadores with the Brazilian top-flight outfit. His form has been that good, he played the full 90 minutes for Brazil as they defeated England on Friday night.

Who Scored showcases that Bruno’s strengths are passing which is deemed very strong and concentration with a rating of strong.

Forest have had some success with signing from the Brazilian market in the past and perhaps Bruno is the man identified as someone who can come in if the club survives relegation.
