Tottenham player says he’s not fully fit ahead of Luton Town clash

Tottenham have had quite a few serious injury issues this season, haven’t they?

James Maddison missed a couple of months due to an ankle problem, while Micky van de Ven has had two spells on the sidelines already.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Richarlison have had issues at different parts of the season as well, and that has not been ideal at all for Ange Postecoglou.

Now, Richarlison has opened up about another potential injury.

The ‘world-class‘ 26-year-old travelled to represent Brazil in this international break, but he was an unused substitute in both their fixtures. He even missed a training session.

He has now revealed that his knee is bothering him and has admitted that he is not ‘100 per cent fit’ at this moment in time.

Speaking to UOL, Richarlison said: “I spoke to Professor Dorival (Brazil manager). He understood that I’m not 100 per cent fit.

“I’ve been feeling my knee a bit. Even with the day-to-day effort, I felt it. I’m happy with the team’s performance, though. We grew a lot in the two games and now I’ll recover well.”

Richarlison’s stats this season show serious improvement

Richarlison came under a lot of criticism for his performances in his debut season at Tottenham. The Brazil international scored just three goals all campaign – only one of them came in the Premier League.

This time around, Richarlison already has 11 goals in all competitions, 10 of which have come in the league.

The 26-year-old’s detailed stats show great improvement as well. He’s averaging more shots, more passes and has created more chances per game this season compared to the last (WhoScored).

Richarlison deserves immense praise for what he has done this season, and Tottenham fans will be hoping he will be fit enough to start against Luton Town on Saturday.
