Footage shows Oliver Glasner doing something interesting with Dean Henderson in Crystal Palace training

Oliver Glasner has been paying special attention to one position in Crystal Palace training, he’s changing the position up.

Since becoming Crystal Palace manager in February, Oliver Glasner has been looking to implement a whole range of changes.

This isn’t a shock though, he’s a very different coach stylistically to Roy Hodgson who he is currently succeeding.

The Austrian manager has changed the formation, personnel and footballing philosophy and mentality around the club already, it’s so encouraging to see.

Only a month in, we are expecting to witness the best version of Glasner’s Eagles yet on Saturday as Palace take on Nottingham Forest.

But now another change has been spotted in training, let’s find out what it is…

What has Oliver Glasner been doing with Dean Henderson in training?

Having had effectively three weeks to work with his players, there could be a notable difference on Saturday for Glasner’s side.

In the most recent training footage to be released, one aspect of this has been picked up on, involving Dean Henderson who is in line to regain his place in the starting line-up due to Sam Johnstone‘s injury.

As seen in the below clip at around 5:30 in, Henderson is actively partaking in possession training with his outfield teammates.

This is something we aren’t used to at Selhurst Park with Hodgson not quite with the times in terms of ball-playing goalkeepers.

To see Glasner implementing this is yet another sign that he has the correct ideas for the Eagles on the field going forward.

Dean Henderson has the chance to justify his £20m fee to Crystal Palace fans

With Johnstone out for months, it could be a chance for Henderson to prove he is worth the £20m that was spent on him last summer.

Since his arrival despite the odd solid display, with Manchester City away being the best example, he’s largely failed to live up to his price tag.

This has left fans bemused over the signing with it being thought the money could’ve been better used elsewhere.

Henderson can silence all these doubters though over the next few weeks in Glasner’s system and establish himself as the number one going forward.

If he doesn’t it could be a long way back for the Englishman.
