AMC settlement update: Don’t miss deadline for $8.3M settlement including AMC+, Shudder, Acorn TV

Customers of the AMC+ streaming service and its sister services, including horror movie service Shudder, Acorn TV, AllBlk, HiDive and Sundance Now, may be eligible for a payment as part of a settlement.

The deadline to sign up for the $8.3 million settlement is April 9.

AMC Networks and its channels were accused of disclosing the personal information of subscribers who used the services between Jan. 18, 2021 and Jan. 10, 2024 in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.

AMC did not immediately respond to request for comment, but it previously denied wrongdoing.

You may have received an email from the settlement administrator, but if you didn’t, you can still sign up online or by printing and mailing a paper claim, which must be postmarked by April 9, the settlement website said.

How much each will receive as part of the settlement won’t be determined until claims are verified and attorney fees and other expenses are deducted, the settlement website said.
