How well did Alexander Isak play for Newcastle against West Ham?

Isak was dropping deep throughout the contest, having recently operated in an attacking midfield role for Sweden over the international break.

The merits of that were certainly obvious when he pulled off that defence-splitting pass for Barnes to score the third.

In many ways, it was the perfect all-round performance from Isak, considering the two spot-kicks too.

According to WhoScored data, he ranked in Newcastle’s top three players for shots (4), shots on target (2) and key passes (2).

Having recently spoken about finally getting back up to full speed following another frustrating season on the injury front, it seems Isak is getting back to something approaching his very best.
