'He's very talented': PL manager says £42.5m Arsenal target is close to becoming a complete footballer

Arsenal have been told that one of their transfer targets heading into the summer window is on the verge of becoming a complete footballer following his performance for their Premier League rivals on Tuesday night.

It is going to be fascinating to see what Mikel Arteta’s side look to do in the summer transfer window. Arsenal have taken another step forward this season.

With that, it is hard to see where too many gaps in the Arsenal squad remain. But there are a number of players who have been linked with a move to the Emirates at the end of the season.

Arsenal target quickly becoming the complete footballer

One of those who appears to be on the Arsenal radar is Morgan Gibbs-White. Gibbs-White has been exceptional for Nottingham Forest this season.

And one of his best displays yet came on Tuesday as Nuno Espirito Santo‘s men blew Fulham away in the first-half at the City Ground.

Forest won 3-1 to boost their survival hopes. And Gibbs-White was at the heart of almost everything which went right for Forest.

He played an outrageous through ball for Callum Hudson-Odoi for the opening goal. And he put the game virtually to bed just before half-time with such a composed finish.

He managed four key passes during the game, according to Whoscored. And speaking to Match of the Day afterwards, Nuno suggested that the £42.5 million star has found another level.

“He’s very talented, no doubt about that. He’s reaching the levels of a football player that is almost complete,” he said.

“He reads the game well, he has talent, he can score. The biggest challenge is to keep Morgan at that level and sustain this level of all the players. Many players did well behind him to allow him to attack.”

Morgan Gibbs-White will not come cheap

Forest are an ambitious club. So they are not going to give up Gibbs-White without a fight. And to be honest, while they remain in the Premier League, he should be in absolutely no rush to leave.

But the interest is inevitable. What is particularly interesting is that Gibbs-White now has the same number of goals and assists this season as James Maddison. And Maddison is often picked out as one of the signings of the season.

Arsenal will have reservations about making a move. Ultimately, Gibbs-White seems to do his best work as a number 10. And the Gunners are fairly well-stocked in that position.

So it would be a surprise if they were prepared to pay an amount Forest were willing to consider.

But there is no question that he has got an amazing future ahead. And thus, Arsenal may feel that he is worth breaking the bank for.
