Spin-off of TV's messiest holiday rep reality show 'no longer' cancelled, jokes former star

Island Weekender is the new name for Ibiza Weekender’s new spin-off, despite rumors the ITV holiday rep show was cancelled. Jordan Davis, known for fronting Magaluf Weekender, has shared the news!

A casual Instagram scroll on a Tuesday morning to find out Island Weekender is the new messy ITV show to grace our screens was not on our bingo cards. Jordan Davies shared the news on April Fool’s Day…

Island Weekender ‘joins’ Love Island

Island Weekender has been announced as a spin-off of Ibiza Weekender, combining the show with not just your average holiday-goers but Love Island stars we’re all aware of.

The reps – who have seen the likes of Celebrity Big Brother winner David Potts lead the way – are all set to grace our screens again… Or so we thought. But as it happens, the ‘news’ was shared on April Fools Day.

We almost fell for it, too. Questions like, “Will the OG be part of the main cast this time?” flooded Jordan’s – a holiday rep who posted the ‘news’ – comments, and he responded, “Always.”

Jordan says Weekender ‘no longer cancelled’

Many Ibiza Weekender fans were convinced the show was cancelled, but when questioned by a fan, Jordan said, “Not anymore.” Many realised the whole thing seemed to be a joke – which started a riot.

One commenter said, “Oh!!! @jordanweekender we want this to happen!!!! @itvxofficial @itv you know we need this!!!” While another said the joke post was “very good.”

However, those who totally forgot it was April 1 fell for it completely. Jordan played along with it too, because when a fan said it’s “been too long,” he responded, “Hasn’t it just.”

Filmed on a ‘secret party island’

Island Weekender has been filmed on a “secret party island,” Jordan claimed. Although he said they cannot spill the location details, he suggested it won’t be the usual Ibiza or Magaluf holiday places.

He wasn’t the only one to make a joke based on the ITV reality show, either…
