Harry Kane sends message to £22m Tottenham player after what he did vs West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur players Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro have both been blown away by what one of their team-mates did last night.

The Lilywhites had a quick turnaround from their victory against Luton Town on the weekend with a trip to West Ham.

Ange Postecoglou’s men had to settle for a point against their London rivals and they now have to rest up ahead of Sunday’s game against Nottingham Forest.

Brennan Johnson was the goalscorer for Spurs on Tuesday night, but it is what one of the other players was able to do which has impressed.

What Heung-min Son did against West Ham on Tuesday

Heung-min Son came into the game at the London Stadium on the back of a winning goal against Luton Town over the weekend.

And how Spurs could have done with a repetition of that last night against David Moyes’ side.

Having opened the scoring early on in the game, Spurs really struggled to find their cutting edge for the remainder of the game.

But the game did mark a big milestone for Tottenham’s South Korean captain with it being his 400 appearance for Spurs.

Having joined the club all the way back in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen for just £22m, the 31-year-old celebrated the achievement on his Instagram.

And his team-mates Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro both replied with the crown emoji suggesting he is now the king of Tottenham.

What Harry Kane had to say about Son’s 400th appearance

Considering Spurs spent a considerable amount of money on a player like Tanguy Ndombele, Son has to go down as one of the club’s best ever signings.

For just £22m, Spurs have got themselves a player who absolutely adores playing for the club and that can be seen on the pitch.

Here is a brief summary of Son’s time at Spurs.

  • 400 appearances
  • 160 goals
  • 82 assists
  • Fifth highest Spurs goalscorer
  • 35 appearances off surpassing Harry Kane
  • 1X Premier League Golden Boot
  • 4X Premier League Player of the Month
  • 1X Puskas award

And it was not just his current teammates who were weighing in on the congratulations.

Having left in the summer for Bayern Munich, Harry Kane commented on the South Korean’s post to share his delight in Son’s accomplishment. He said: “Congrats brother”.

The 30-year-old England captain will have the opportunity to reunite with Son and provide Spurs fans with a proper farewell in the summer.

Having departed just days before this season begun, Kane will make his first return to north London in a pre-season friendly. You can read how Spurs fans reacted to this news, right here.

Kane and Son produced the Premier League’s greatest ever Premier League partnership with a stunning 47 goal combinations.

With the football Spurs have played this year under Postecoglou, it’s a real shame Kane wasn’t still around to be a part of this side.
