'They can crumble': Craig Burley predicts the score for Chelsea vs Manchester United tonight

Chelsea take on Manchester United tonight in a Premier League match that feels high-pressured for both.

Chelsea host Man United at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night, starting the game sitting 12th in the Premier League table.

The Blues are still within distance of the European positions above them, but we predict it’ll take a very strong end in the final 10 league matches to finish there.

Chelsea vs Man United head-to-head

Unfortunately, Chelsea fans won’t like to be reminded this has been a difficult fixture for a long time.

The Blues are winless in their previous seven meetings with Man United, the last time they won was the FA Cup back in 2020.

If you want the last time Chelsea beat them in the league, it was 2017 when Antonio Conte was still in charge.

Here are the previous seven clashes between the two rivals:

  • Manchester United v Chelsea – 2-1
  • Manchester United v Chelsea – 4-1
  • Chelsea v Manchester United – 1-1
  • Manchester United v Chelsea – 1-1
  • Chelsea v Manchester United – 1-1
  • Chelsea v Manchester United – 0-0
  • Manchester United v Chelsea – 0-0

Craig Burley prediction

ESPN pundit Craig Burley has predicted a tight Chelsea win over Man United in the midweek clash, but he’s critical of both sides and doesn’t have much faith in either.

When previewing Chelsea versus Man United, Burley told ESPN: “Does anybody have a clue, including the managers, what they’re going to get out of their players in both these teams? The answer is no. Not a clue.

“Chelsea can go play some good football and then they can crumble – miss all these chances. United, who knows? It could be a pressing game, it could be passive as it normally is and the goalkeeper could be getting peltered,

“If you can’t beat this United side at home now, what chance have you got in the future?”

Burley’s prediction on ESPN : Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United.
