Journalist Samuel Luckhurst has now shared what the reaction was to Mason Mount coming out to warm up at Stamford Bridge tonight.

Mount returns to Stamford Bridge

He was injured when Chelsea made the trip to Old Trafford, with the Blues putting in arguably their worst display of the season in a 2-1 defeat.

Reports came out before this game regarding Mount’s departure from West London, with it being stated that he was still hurt by the method that he left the club.

Not all Chelsea fans were convinced though, and it was always going to be interesting to see how they responded to seeing the England international return to the club he was at for the majority of his life.

Mixed response for Mount

Luckhurst has now claimed that there was a mixed response from those already in their seats when the two sides came out to warm up.

He said: “Some boos and some applause from Chelsea fans for Mason Mount as he heads down the tunnel after the warm up.”

With him almost certainly set to come on for the Red Devils, it will be interesting to see just how the masses take to him returning.

It has already been claimed that it feels unlikely that Mount will celebrate if he did find the net tonight, although the magnitude of the moment will of course play a part.

Chelsea meanwhile are looking to finally make the climb up the table towards the European places, with this feeling essential for Mauricio Pochettino’s future at the club.
