Eric Dier shares what Daniel Levy told him about plans for him and Harry Kane in the summer at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has told Eric Dier he has plans for him and Harry Kane for the summer.

It has now been a number of months since Harry Kane made the move from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to Bayern Munich.

However, it has not quite turned out to be the switch to the German giants which he may have expected.

Bayern now find themselves 13 points adrift in the Bundesliga and having failed in their domestic cups, their only hope now hangs with the Champions League.

The struggles the Bundesliga side have endured this season has even seen some suggest Kane will be thinking about a potential Premier League return this summer.

Both Kane and Eric Dier will be returning to north London next week in their first leg against Arsenal in the quarter finals.

However, Daniel Levy has also set up a pre-season friendly with Bayern in August which will allow both players to have a proper send off in front of the fans.

The pair have left at a time when Spurs are showing a lot of promise for the next few years under Ange Postecoglou.

And it can only be thought what Spurs potentially could have done with Kane still in the side.

Daniel Levy has told Dier he has a something in store for him and Kane

A lot has changed in N17 since Kane left in the summer as he made the move to end his trophy drought.

It has really not turned out to be the move which he will have hoped for and his situation has seen some poke a bit of fun at the predicament he finds himself in.

This is not to say Kane hasn’t had yet another excellent season for the German giants with the England captain having provided a stunning return of 37 goals and 12 assists in 36 appearances.

But given he and Dier both left fairly abruptly, it meant neither were able to properly say goodbye to the fans.

Both were fantastic servants over the years with Kane becoming the club’s record goalscorer before earning his £100m move.

Dier made the move to the Allianz Arena in January on loan, but Bayern have already confirmed they will be making his stay permanent ahead of the summer.

Spurs fans have already expressed their excitement ahead of the game in north London in August against Postecoglou’s current crop of players.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Athletic, Dier has provided some insight on what the chairman has told him ahead of the friendly against Spurs.

“From speaking to Daniel, they plan for something for us [him and Kane] there. I don’t know, but he told me that was in the works.”

Dier admits he didn’t take Postecoglou snub personally

After Postecoglou arrived in the summer, it became pretty apparent that Dier was not going to be in his plans.

With Cristian Romero being promoted to vice captain, Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin – in January – being added to the squad, Dier only played 198 minutes in the league.

An exit always seemed to be on the cards, but Dier has said that Postecoglou’s snub was not taken to heart.

“I didn’t take it personally, him not playing me. If he doesn’t like me, it’s not a problem for me. Lots of people won’t like me, lots of people like me, it’s irrelevant.

“I try to look at it through my own point of view: do I like the manager, for who he is as a person, and the way he is as a coach? It doesn’t matter to me if I’m playing or not. And I really, really enjoyed working under him, and I learned a hell of a lot.”
