'A real plus': David Seaman says Liverpool have a 'brilliant' player who's so 'underrated'

Liverpool have been absolutely brilliant this season.

The Reds have proven many of their doubters wrong this term as they’re flying high at the top of the Premier League in pursuit of a potential treble.

The Merseyside club have been transformed this term as their new-look midfield has completely changed the way Jurgen Klopp’s side operate, while players such as Virgil Van Dijk have returned to their best.

Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been discussing this current Liverpool squad, and he says that there’s one player in the team who is rather underrated.

David Seaman says Liverpool player is underrated

Seaman was discussing Alexis Mac Allister’s recent performances.

The former goalkeeper says that the Argentine has been brilliant this season, stating that he thinks the midfielder isn’t quite getting the credit he deserves.

“Mac Allister is a brilliant player, but he’s an underrated player. Some of his passing and his assists have been brilliant. His little one-twos and his balls through and everything. He’s been a real plus this season for Liverpool. His form has been brilliant,” Seaman said.

Alexis Mac Allister is in the spotlight

Mac Allister has been underrated at Liverpool for most of this season, but in recent weeks it does feel as though he’s getting his due credit.

Perhaps it’s because he’s popping up with more goals and assists now, but Mac Allister has been the centre of a lot of attention as of late.

The midfielder has been absolutely fantastic for the Reds, and his goal against Sheffield United on Thursday just served to underline the type of form the former Brighton man is in at the moment.

Liverpool needed to make sure their midfield additions were spot on this summer, and it’s fair to say that Mac Allister was the perfect signing at the perfect time.
