'I see them'...Mikel Arteta disagrees with Arsenal comments from rival Premier League manager

Brighton are next up for Arsenal as they look to continue their charge towards the Premier League title.

Arsenal continued their fine run in the league this season by beating Luton in midweek to go top of the table for a temporary period.

However, wins for Manchester City and then Liverpool last night have seen Jurgen Klopp’s side go back on top.

It means, then, that the run in is set to be one of the most exciting in years, with Arsenal travelling to Brighton this weekend for a tough away game.

Arsenal need to maintain standards after ‘no weaknesses’ comments

For Mikel Arteta, it will all be about keeping up the standards and keeping on winning games. His team have been so good at that all season that to slip up now would feel devastating.

Of course, other teams and managers have praised Arsenal as well.

Luton manager Rob Edwards labelled the Gunners as having no weaknesses after seeing them in midweek.

“(They’re) Very clear in how they attack but its really difficult to stop. They’re always there in good numbers and they can really suffocate you. I think, maybe they’re the one team out of all the three fighting that can play any game – if it’s physical, a footballing, running, whatever it is they’ve got the answer, the personnel to play anything. They’ve got no weaknesses,” Edwards said.

However, Mikel Arteta has disagreed with this assessment.

Speaking in his own press conference ahead of facing Brighton this weekend, Arteta was asked about the comments from Edwards.

And the Spaniard insisted that while his Arsenal side impress others, he ultimately still sees weaknesses in his squad.

“I see them. Managers probably see all the time what we don’t have than rather than what we actually have, but it’s good to hear from other managers what they think about the team. We can still evolve a lot and will try to do that,” Arteta said.

Arteta will be testing himself against another top manager this weekend in the form of Roberto De Zerbi.

With Liverpool playing away at Manchester United and Man City away at Crystal Palace, this weekend could well end up being a defining moment in the entire title race.
