'Amazing': Andrew Omobamidele says something happened in Forest vs Fulham which just blew him away

Nottingham Forest centre-back Andrew Omobamidele has been speaking on the back of the impressive win on Tuesday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo was able to guide Forest to a stunning 3-1 win at the City Ground against Fulham.

Forest were going into the game on the back of a draw against Crystal Palace following the resumption of Premier League action after the recent break.

A real team effort is needed by the current crop of Forest players following the four point deduction which was recently slapped on them.

However, they have responded well with players like Morgan Gibbs-White being picked out for specific praise following Tuesday’s victory.

But there are serious questions surrounding the future of the 24-year-old with Sunday’s oppositions believed to be interested in potentially signing him.

And Nuno will certainly need his players to step up on tomorrow when they travel to a Tottenham side who are gunning for Champions League football.

The Portuguese manager will be returning to his former club for the first time since his four-month tenure was terminated in 2021.

Omobamidele issues message to the fans after Tuesday

The game against Fulham on Tuesday night provided Forest with a real reward for their efforts in these tough circumstances.

Debate still remains whether the points deduction was fair or not with former Arsenal defender Martin Keown recently weighing in.

And it has recently been revealed by Matt Turner that the deduction is something which has been a big topic of discussion behind the scenes with the players.

With Luton Town losing against Tottenham on the weekend and then against Arsenal during the week, Forest have now been able to pull slightly clear of Rob Edwards’ side.

However, it has been made apparent that their fans also played a huge part on Tuesday.

Omobamidele made just his sixth start in the Premier League this season against the Cottagers and played the full 90 minutes.

Speaking to the club’s media in the wake of the game, he admitted that he was blown away by the atmosphere which was created by the home fans.

“Tuesday night was a great night. I keep going back to it, but the fans were amazing. You know, it was something I haven’t really experienced too many times in my career, that level of noise from minute one to the last.

“And I’m just happy we were able to give back to them with three points.”

Fulham player also hailed the atmosphere created at the City Ground

It is not just Forest players who have been speaking about the atmosphere which was created on Tueaday night.

Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney has also said that it was a deafening atmosphere which Forest do not get the credit they deserve for.

“Forest were very good. The atmosphere was tremendous by the way. You forget how good the City Ground is. The City Ground is exceptional. I don’t think they get the credit they deserve.”

Although Forest won’t be at home on the weekend, it is apparent their fans could play a major part in the team’s performance over the remaining games.
