Tottenham looking to repeat Lucas Bergvall coup by beating Barcelona to £43m midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur are now looking to beat Barcelona to yet another player this summer with the player prepared to move on.

Going into the remaining eight games of the Premier League season, Ange Postecoglou‘s side have their eyes on the top four.

However, the Australian has made it very clear that he does not view Champions League qualification as the be all and end all.

Spurs have not been playing any form of European football this season, but they have still made a lot of progress.

Daniel Levy has approved a number of changes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium recently including an array of new signings.

Micky van de Ven was picked out as a prime example of Tottenham‘s development not being stunted this season by not playing in the Champions League.

The Lilywhites have already revealed their encouraging latest financial report which would suggest the club have a good amount of wiggle room to spend this summer.

The Spurs News have already been told that Tottenham are looking at a number of key areas to potentially upgrade over the coming months.

And it seems they already have one midfielder who they are keen to explore ahead of the summer.

Tottenham looking to repeat Lucas Bergvall triumph

The Lilywhites have already been able to beat Barcelona to the signing of a young midfielder this year in Lucas Bergvall.

After seeing the Spanish giants show a lot of interest in him over the January transfer window, Bergvall made the decision to choose Spurs as his next club.

The 18-year-old will make the move to north London in the summer having inked the contract in January.

Tottenham have also been linked with potentially taking some of Barca’s young talents this summer with Dani Rodriguez said to be of interest.

Another player who Spurs are said to be in the frame for is Mika Faye who could add to their centre-back department alongside Cristian Romero, Van de Ven and Radu Dragusin.

But the pair could once again find themselves battling it out for the signature of a midfielder this summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the two side are just some of the clubs who are showing an interest in Atalanta’s Ederson.

The report claims AC Milan, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid are all also keen on the Brazilian.

Going into the summer, the 24-year-old has just two years remaining on his deal with the Serie A side and the Spanish outlet have him valued at around £43m.

Postecoglou open to players leaving to create space for signings

Ahead of the window, it is expected Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will leave the club as he has just one year left on his deal.

And Postecoglou told the media on Friday that he is more than open for any unhappy players to leave this summer if they want more minutes.

“No one will play every game. It doesn’t happen. It doesn’t happen at all the big clubs, so I am never really worried about the game-time players are playing. If they want more game-time, there are other clubs where they can do that and I’m looking at contribution,” he said.
