Newcastle United’s Sven Botman is having to watch on from the sidelines.
After a second serious knee injury of the season, the Newcastle defender is set to miss a significant period of action.
It was a huge blow for Botman, who avoided having surgery on his first knee problem only to suffer a similar ailment months later.
Now, he’s having to support his teammates from afar and last week sent one of his first public messages since the injury to teammate Harvey Barnes after his two goals against West Ham.
Indeed, while he cannot help on the pitch, the Dutchman is proving a vocal supporter off of it.
He hailed teammate Bruno Guimaraes, who scored the winner for Eddie Howe’s side at Fulham on Saturday.

Newcastle started very poorly at Craven Cottage, to the point where Howe had to have harsh words with his team.
Still, a second half improvement was capped off by a goal for Guimaraes on what was a “special day” in his Newcastle career.
It marked the 100 appearance of his time with the club, with the 26-year-old taking to Instagram to write: “I’m very happy to be completing 100 games for @nufc !
“Since I joined the club, we’ve played 107 games and I’ve been present in 100 of them! A very special day for me and my family! 100 games, a goal, and three points. Can it get any better than this?”
Botman then responded with three love hearts.

While not to dampen the mood, Newcastle need to enjoy Guimaraes while they have him.
At this rate, it seems doubtful he will reach another 100 games in the famous black and white.
Indeed, earlier this week, it was claimed thatParis Saint-Germain were confident about signing the player this summer.
That would be a huge blow for everyone involved at the club of course. If it is to happen, however, fans should enjoy him while they can.
If he leads Newcastle back into Europe before leaving, it would be some parting gift.
