Newcastle United face a big summer ahead.
While it remains unclear as to quite how far the budget will stretch amid FFP limitations at Newcastle, a big rebuild under PIF has been predicted.
Indeed, the club were reportedly looking to sign a new defender even before the long-term injuries to both Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles.
They had planned to invest there last summer too but the budget simply didn’t stretch that far.
Up front, Eddie Howe is believed to be looking for a new forward to potentially replace Callum Wilson, who has been linked with a summer move away.
Still, the biggest issue Newcastle have this summer centres around one of their star players.
While Howe is seemingly insistent that Alexander Isak won’t be sold, it’s a different case when it comes to Bruno Guimaraes.
The midfielder is believed to have a £100m release clause in his contract and The Athletic have claimed there is a begrudging acceptance he may need to leave this summer.
It’s even been said that Paris Saint-Germain have grown in confidence about signing the star.

Burn, who Howe believes can actually save Newcastle money this summer due to his versatility, says Newcastle simply must keep Guimaraes at the club if they are to become a leading force.
He told The Athletic: “Everyone waxes lyrical about Bruno because he’s an amazing player.
“If we want to kick on as a club, then we need to keep hold of our best players.”

Whether or not he does leave this summer, it seems incredibly unlikely that Guimaraes will look to force a move.
If a team comes in and meets his release clause, then there’s little Newcastle can do of course.
The player, however, has recently insisted he hopes to stay at the club.
