Data now shows how likely Arsenal are to win the title after Liverpool v Man Utd draw

Arsenal enjoyed a dream Premier League weekend as the Gunners secured a 3-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion as Liverpool dropped points against Manchester United.

The English top-flight headliner lived up to expectations for the first time in years as the Red Devils battled hard against Jurgen Klopp’s side in what was a thrilling encounter at Old Trafford.

Whilst Mohamed Salah’s late penalty saw Liverpool rescue a point, the result coupled with Arsenal’s win put the north London side clear at the top of the Premier League standings.

And according to Opta’s data, this weekend’s results has given Arsenal a huge boost in their chances of winning the Premier League, with the Gunners now more likely than Liverpool to lift the title.

As per the findings, the Reds odds of lifting a second Premier League under Klopp dropped from 40% down to 29%, with Arsenal going from 21% up to 30% after winning against Brighton.

Whilst Manchester City remain the clear favourites with a 40% chance of winning the title, this weekend’s results has made a big impact on the Premier League race.

And for Arsenal, sitting top of the standings, there is arguably a better chance now of winning the title now than there was last season given how good the north London side are playing under Mikel Arteta.

It might be rare to see an Arsenal website praise a Premier League rival as old and as big as United, but the Red Devils deserve credit where it is due.

The Old Trafford side claimed a surprise result against Liverpool with a weakened side as United did their part in boosting Arsenal’s Premier League title chances.

With the Gunners set to take on United next month, Arsenal will hope they can fair better than Liverpool in Manchester, where Klopp’s side struggled at times.
