'Nobody is talking': Pundit says he's noticed a big change in Mikel Arteta which isn't being mentioned enough

Arsenal look to be much improved this season.

The Gunners were so close to winning the Premier League title last term, but this year, they look good value to go one step further, while you’d have to be a fool to write them off in the Champions League too.

So, what’s changed?

Well, the additions of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz have certainly helped, but according to Adrian Clarke, speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, there’s been a change in Mikel Arteta that isn’t being discussed as much as it should be.

Something has changed in Mikel Arteta

Clarke spoke about the change he’s noticed in the manager.

“Mikel Arteta is much calmer this season isn’t he? Nobody is talking about what he’s doing in the technical area because he’s not doing it this season,” The host said.

“That’s a really good point. It’s not been spoken about enough this season, but he is much calmer and so are the team, they’ve just gained so much confidence from the performances they’ve produced this season, particularly in big games,” Clarke said.

Arsenal are calmer

It’s not just Mikel Arteta who is calmer at Arsenal.

Indeed, the aura around the whole club is calmer this season.

Say what you will about David Raya, but he’s much less frenetic than Aaron Ramsdale, while Jakub Kiwior is much more reliable defensively than Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Arsenal just feel calmer and stronger, they almost feel like champions in the making, and for the first time in a long time, you may even be able to say that the Gunners are favourites to win the league.

Mikel Arteta continues to grow and evolve as a manager every single year, and now, he seems to have cracked the code when it comes to staying calm in the big moments.

Who knows? Perhaps this shift to being more calm could lead Arsenal to a Premier League title.
