Report: Chelsea considering offering a player in exchange for 25-year-old this summer

Chelsea could try and get creative in their bid to sign one of their targets this summer.

He is expected to cost a lot of money and while Chelsea may have the cash to bring him in on paper, the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules could make doing a super expensive deal difficult for the Blues.

Whatever money the club can spend when the transfer window opens, it is likely to go on a new striker and centre-half.

In terms of potential arrivals, then, Chelsea continue to be linked with centre-forward Victor Osimhen.

Further back, there has also been talk about the Blues reigniting their interest in Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt.

Chelsea could offer player in exchange for target

Focusing on Chelsea’s attack, the most important thing is that they do bring in a new No.9 this summer.

Right now, Nicolas Jackson is the only recognised centre-forward in their squad and he has been hit and miss this season.

The 22-year-old has scored 12 goals in the current campaign but has missed a lot of chances, something that he has admitted.

Osimhen could be the man to come in and help Jackson and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea may be ready to offer Napoli one of their players to bring the Nigerian’s price tag down.

Osimhen has only scored two more goals than Jackson this season, but in the last campaign he record was truly phenomenal. In 39 outings, he netted 31 times.

Who should Chelsea offer to Napoli to lower Victor Osimhen price?

Armando Broja is a logical candidate to be included in any potential player-plus-cash deal for Osimhen.

The Albania international is a striker and currently out on loan so does not look to be part of Chelsea’s long-term plans.

Maybe, then, Broja could end up knocking around £20m off of Osimhen’s price tag.

If there is no future for the Chelsea academy graduate at Stamford Bridge, then the club may as well try.
