Harry Kane takes dig at Arsenal and makes Tottenham comment after Champions League quarter-final last night

Harry Kane has been speaking about Tottenham Hotspur after scoring in Bayern Munich’s Champions League clash against Arsenal.

It was a much more positive night for Thomas Tuchel’s side at the Emirates Stadium after some really poor results in the Bundesliga.

And as sure as day follows night, Harry Kane found the back of the net against Arsenal from the penalty spot.

Tottenham Hotspur‘s record goalscorer did it again against the Gunners as he netted his 15 goal against Mikel Arteta’s side.

Kane also became the player to have scored the most goals (6) against Arsenal at their Emirates Stadium since it was opened.

And he did not stop there in pleasing the onwatching Tottenham fans with the England captain still producing the goods even after the game.

Having returned to north London and provided Spurs fans with something to cheer about, he then took a slight dig at the Gunners in his post-match interviews.

Going into the game, Tuchel admitted that there was a lot of motivation for Kane to go into this specific game and score.

And the 30-year-old did not disappoint when he slotted home his penalty inside the first half and sent David Raya the complete wrong way.

It was an unusually calm penalty for Kane who has built up a reputation for slamming the ball home from the spot.

But that penalty was his seventh against the Gunners having scored six out of six from the spot for Spurs against their north London rivals.

As if netting against Arsenal last night was not enough for Spurs fans Kane then went on to dig out the Gunners in his post-match interviews.

Speaking to CBS Sports, the 30-year-old admitted Arsenal have a habit of handing him the opportunity to score from the spot.

“I get quite a lot of penalties against Arsenal, especially at the Emirates so they hand the opportunities to me! I enjoy these games,” he said.

“For Tottenham they were big games. They were London derbies. I have spent many games here and had some good results and bad results and I enjoy big games. This is a quarter final and it doesn’t matter if it’s Arsenal or whoever this is a big game! I was glad to help the team today.”

Kane hints he knew Spurs fans would be watching

Under Ange Postecoglou, Spurs fans will be hopeful of the club returning to the Champions League next season.

Tottenham currently sit inside the top four ahead of their trip to Newcastle United on the weekend where they could open a three-point gap on Aston Villa.

But for now, watching Kane in the elite European competition will have to do and he hinted to TNT Sports after the game that he knew Spurs fans would be watching the game.

“Well yeah, I know there wasn’t just Bayern Munich fans watching this game tonight. So it was maybe a little bit more pressure,” he said.
