Report: Chelsea have met staff of 17-year-old youngster, they’re fighting Manchester City to sign him

Reports have claimed that Chelsea have sent representatives to meet people close to one youngster in an attempt to convince him to join them.

According to GE Globo, the Blues are one of three Premier League clubs who have already kickstarted their efforts to try and bring in an up and coming star down in South America.

Chelsea have not been shy to invest in a number of young players since Todd Boehly came in, and this has seen their efforts stretch to all corners of the globe.

Boehly keen to sign youngsters

South America has been somewhat of a hotspot though, and has been where they have secured talents such as Kendry Paez and Andrey Santos from.

It looks as if they are beginning to register their interest in another in the form of Sport Recife right-back Pedro Lima.

The 17-year-old has already made a name for himself as an extremely promising player in Brazil, and now it looks as if this talent has been noticed over in the Premier League.

The report states that Chelsea and Liverpool have already made efforts to meet those associated with the player in an attempt to convince them of their project.

It also goes on to say that Manchester City are a side who had scouts in attendance at one of his recent games, where his current side added a trophy to their cabinet.

Some Chelsea fans will likely be more concerned at this stage about who their side are looking to sign that will address the issues currently on the pitch atStamford Bridge.

The Blues remain in the mid-table places of the Premier League, despite the large amount of money spent on trying to strengthen their squad.

It remains to be seen if they have the funds to spend big on a player such as a striker and remain inside the FFP guidelines this summer.
