Newcastle have done something “quite interesting” in Lewis Hall transfer
Indeed, reports from journalist Ben Jacobs this week suggested Newcastle could seal a permanent deal for Lewis Hall from Chelsea as early as this weekend, when could be mathematically be clear of relegation.
The defender has generally struggled for game time this season but has started to impress Howe of late.
With £4m towards the £28m permanent deal reportedly already paid, Jacobs has suggested Newcastle may have actually structured the rest of the payment to come after the PSR cut-off, thus boosting what the club may be able to spend this summer.
He told the NUFC Matters Show on YouTube: “The other thing I’m told which is quite interesting in this is that Newcastle may have structured the deal to actually receive the player now but pay after the PSR cut-off, which would be far, far, far more beneficial for Newcastle than it would be for Chelsea.”
Lewis Hall deal gets better and better for Newcastle
Starting to make an impact in recent weeks, it would be a fantastic bit of business from the club if Jacobs is right.
It means they will have a player already getting used to life under Howe with a further season of experience under his belt but will not have to pay for him just yet, allowing funds to potentially be spent elsewhere.
Hall is starting to come good just at the right time.
