It’s already obvious who the best replacement for Luis Díaz will be for Liverpool this summer

Liverpool will already know who the best replacement for Luis Diaz will be for the club this summer if the Colombian leaves the club.

There are going to be a lot of changes at Liverpool this summer. When a new manager comes in and an old ones leaves there always are.

After all, it’s not just Jurgen Klopp departing, but a lot of his backroom staff. Including key figures like Peter Krawietz, Vitor Matos and Pep Lijnders.

Naturally, when so much change happens, and a new manager comes in with new ideas, players will think about their futures as well.

One of those players who could be caught up in that conundrum is Luis Diaz. According to a recent report in The Telegraph, he is attracting the interest of Paris Saint German and could leave the club this summer.

Diaz hasn’t been at Liverpool for very long. He joined the club just over two years ago. During his time, he has caught the eye with his exciting style of play.

However, at times, he hasn’t quite been as effective in the final third. Too often, he makes the wrong decisions and isn’t quite clinical enough.

Which means if there was an offer on the table, Liverpool should definitely consider it. Especially if that offer ensures they make a profit on their investment.

Why Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could be Liverpool’s next Luis Diaz

One of the most obvious replacements for Liverpool for Diaz is Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian is four years younger than the Colombian and has only just turned 23-years-old.

But already he has a lot of experience playing at an elite level in Europe.

In terms of his playing style he is also very similar to Diaz. Kvaratskhelia loves to dribble and makes forward runs. He is one of the best players in world football when it comes to taking players on one vs one.

But he is definitely more clinical in the final third. This season he has 16 goal contributions in 28 matches for a struggling Napoli side in Serie A. In comparison, Diaz has 12 goal contributions in 30 league matches for Liverpool this season.

How Richard Hughes could be the key to getting a deal done

Liverpoolappointed Richard Hughes as the club’s sporting director last month. The former Bournemouth man, has a lot of connections with Italy.

He actually grew up in Italy and came through the academy ranks of Atalanta as a player. Recently, it has been reported that he is a fluent Italian speaker and has a lot of connection to Serie A and understands that market really well (The Times).

In fact, he was even a pundit on BT Sport covering Italian football. He will therefore be well aware of Kvaratskhelia and could have the means and the pulling power to convince him to come to Anfield.
