House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) hit back at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) after she threatened to file a motion to oust him from leadership.
During a House Republican press conference on Wednesday, Johnson was asked about Greene's threats over Ukraine funding.
"You're meeting this morning with Marjorie Taylor Greene," Fox News correspondent Chad Pergram noted. "And previously, she has said she would move to vacate the chair."

"It's a very complicated matter at a very complicated time, and the clock is ticking on it, and everyone here feels the urgency of that, but what's required is that you reach a consensus on it," Johnson said of a supplemental bill to fund Ukraine.
"And that's what we're working on with regard to Marjorie Taylor Green. She's a colleague. I've always considered her a friend. Marjorie and I don't disagree I don't think on any matter of philosophy... Marjorie is, um, is frustrated by the last appropriations package of spending bills, and you know what? So am I."

"Here's the reality that we have to remind everybody, and you all know in the room because you're here every day. But some people back home don't realize we have the smallest majority in U.S. history," he continued. "We've got a one-vote margin right now. This is an historic moment."
Johnson pointed out that Democrats control both the White House and Senate. He argued that shutting down the government would not help Republicans politically.
"For the Republican Party to continue to govern to maintain keep and then grow our majority in November, I thought that would have been a great hindrance to it, and so that wouldn't be helpful and nor does the motion to vacate help us in that regard either," he explained.
