Report: 'Unbelievable' striker has just rejected Chelsea, he wants to join Arsenal instead

A player linked with a move to both Arsenal and Chelsea has just made a decision about his future this summer.

The two London clubs are in very different places at the moment, aren’t they?

Arsenal are fighting to win the Premier League and the Champions League, while there’s a chance Chelsea will finish in the bottom half of the table for the second season running.

However, both clubs are still going after the same players, and there’s a fresh update on one of them.

Chelsea fans will hate what Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres has done

Arsenal and Chelsea have both been heavily linked with a move to sign Viktor Gyokeres this summer.

The Sweden international has been one of the most terrifying forwards in Europe this season. He has directly contributed to over 50 goals already, which is an incredible return.

Gyokeres is expected to leave Sporting Lisbon this summer, especially if Ruben Amorim swaps the Estádio José Alvalade for Liverpool’s Anfield.

Recent reports have claimed that Arsenal and Chelsea are both preparing offers to send to Sporting to sign Gyokeres this summer, but Blues fans will hate the news that has come out now.

Football Transfers have shared the latest on Gyokeres’ future amid links to both Arsenal and Chelsea.

The report claims that the 26-year-old has turned down a move to Stamford Bridge and has made Arsenal ‘his first-choice club’ to join this summer.

The stumbling block for the Gunners, however, is Sporting Lisobon’s demands. The Portuguese giants want Gyokeres’ full €100 million (£85.5m) release clause to be paid – they are demanding €80 million (£68.4m) of that up front.

The report claims Arsenal will try to negotiate that figure down in the coming weeks.

Three strikers Chelsea could sign if Gyokeres goes to Arsenal

Like Arsenal, Chelsea’s priority in the upcoming summer transfer window will be a new striker.

The Blues don’t have a squad as good as the one Mikel Arteta has built at the Emirates. They need reinforcements in multiple areas of the pitch, but a new centre-forward will be more important than the rest of their targets.

The ‘unbelievable‘ Viktor Gyokeres would be a great option for Chelsea, but if the report is to be believed, the Swede has already rejected a move to Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino will have to look elsewhere now, and luckily for him, his side have been linked with a few other strikers in Europe.

Victor Osimhen is perhaps the one Chelsea will go all out for. The Nigerian is one of the best forwards in Europe and Micah Richards thinks the Blues will get him this summer.

Ivan Toney is another player who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, and the Englishman’s Premier League experience makes him an attractive option.

RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko is another striker Chelsea have been linked with recently. We think he would be a great option too for the Blues.
