Following the decision that Klopp would be leaving at the end of the season, it seemed inevitable that links between Liverpool and Allison would emerge. They did. Alonso is sparkling in his role as Bayer boss.
He has guided Bayer to an unbeaten season in all competitions, in pursuit of what would be a remarkable treble. Not only that, but Bayer sit a huge 16 points ahead of Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga.

Leverkusen are preparing for a Europa League quarter-final tie against West Ham this evening – with the Hammers in Germany tonight before welcoming the Bundesliga leaders to London next Thursday.
Alonso’s men will be strong favourites to beat West Ham, but the Hammers are in good form. However, the London side will be without Jarrod Bowen and Edson Alvarez for the clash at Leverkusen’s BayArena.
