'Fantastic talent': Nuno has been seriously impressed with £11m Nottingham Forest star

Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has admitted he’s been very impressed with one of his star players.

The Reds take on Wolves this weekend looking to right some wrongs from last weekend’s game against Tottenham.

Forest fell to a 3-1 defeat in North London, despite holding their own during the first 45 minutes, with Chris Wood missing a sitter and drawing critique from Gary Lineker.

The result – coupled with a win for Luton – leaves the Reds outside the relegation zone on goal difference and points are badly needed.

Espirito Santo has never made excuses since he came to Forest. He is working tirelessly to get things right and ahead of Saturday’s game, he’s lauded one star player.

Nuno Espirito Santo raves about Forest star Murillo

The Reds will see Saturday as a game in which they can take maximum points. With Murillo in the ranks, that has to be the mindset for every game on home soil.

Four Premier League clubs are already looking at Forest defender Murillo. He’s made 30 appearances this season and has been ever-present in the league since his debut in October.

Now, Espirito Santo has been quizzed on Murillo – and it would appear that the Forest centre-back has seriously impressed his head coach at Forest.

He said during today’s press conference: “He’s very young. So, I think it’s a reflection of his age. He loves playing football, he enjoys playing football and he’s a fantastic talent.”

Manchester City were linked with Murillo before he signed for Forest. On current form, they might come back on the scene and the Reds will now expect to make a sizeable profit.

Murillo is going all the way to the top

At 21-years-old, the future looks bright and a document produced by CIES suggests that Murillo could already be worth around £30 million.

Forest will be demanding much more than that for Murillo, however. The club will want top whack for the central defender if they decide to sell.

It does feel as though the club might be powerless to stop him from leaving. Murillo is being courted by a number of clubs and with financial fair play still lurking a departure looks inevitable.

The challenge for Forest is to replace him adequately. These comments from Espirito Santo suggest he values his importance and won’t want to lose him without a proper replacement being signed.
