The McDonald’s menu is packed with delicious options, but did you know there are some secret items available too?
Forget the Big Mac and McNuggets, it’s time to go for something a bit more adventurous – like the Surf + Turf!
McDonald’s Surf + Turf
Yes, McDonald’s actually has a Surf + Turf burger on the menu, complete with three buns, two beef patties and a piece of fish.
“Beef meets fish in this menu hack. Combine two 100% pure beef burger patties seasoned with just a pinch of salt and pepper with fish sourced from sustainably managed fisheries on melty American cheese,” the McDonald’s website says.
The whole thing is topped off with tangy pickles, chopped onions, ketchup, mustard and creamy tartar sauce.
It’s a secret but official menu hack that McDonald’s workers across the US are aware of. When you ask for a Surf + Turf, you’ll get a Double and a Filet-O-Fish, and you have to combine them together yourself to make the burger.

More official menu hacks
It’s one of four menu hacks that joined the McDonald’s menu in 2022, all of which you have to build yourself using other menu items.
Another one is called the Land, Air and Sea Sandwich, which combines a Big Mac, Filet-o-Fish and McChicken.
Then there’s the Crunchy Double, a Double Cheeseburger, 6-piece Chicken McNuggets and BBQ Sauce Packet.
There’s a breakfast hack too, the Hash Brown McMuffin that just involves putting a hash brown inside a McMuffin.
The fast food hacks are inspired by the popular trend of mixing menu items together and gives them official menu names.

Canada’s Remix Menu
McDonald’s has just released a new menu in Canada called Remix, which follows exactly the same concept.
It consists of four different options, which are “twists on classic menu items” inspired by people’s innovative creations, McDonald’s said in a press release.
There’s a Chicken Cheeseburger, Surf ‘N Turf Burger, Sweet Chili Junior Chicken and Apple Pie McFlurry on offer.
The menu has launched exclusively in Canada, but all of the items can be tried in the US with a bit of customization.
