Nuno was surely furious with £5m Nottingham Forest man after what he did twice against Wolves - opinion

Nuno Espirito Santo must have been livid after seeing what happened not once, but twice as Nottingham Forest took on Wolves today.

A header from Morgan Gibbs-White got the Reds back in it after Matheus Cunha put Wolves 1-0 ahead with a fantastic solo effort, before the Wolves star then found himself scoring an equaliser following Danilo’s strike to make it 2-1.

However, the Wolves No.12’s first goal came after two very sloppy pieces of play, which Nuno Espirito Santo would have surely been pulling his hair out over – if he had any.

So, what happened at Nottingham Forest? Let’s take a look…

Nuno must have been furious with Callum Hudson-Odoi

Well, just a minute before Cunha’s opener, Callum Hudson-Odoi floated a weak cross straight into the gloves of Wolves No.1 Jose Sa.

Putting the quality of the £5m England international’s delivery aside, it was an odd decision anyway, as few of his teammates were even in the box.

Nottingham Forest fans inside the City Ground would have expected Hudson-Odoi to learn from this and protect the ball better next time, either with a pass into the area or simply a more difficult cross for Sa to deal with.

However, the Nottingham Forest No.14 floated the exact same cross into the Portugal international’s gloves just seconds after making the same mistake.

Sa then launched the ball towards Cunha and grabbed an assist for the South American’s opening goal.

In our view, Nuno must have been furious with Hudson-Odoi for squandering possession not once, but twice within roughly a minute with the exact same error.

Sloppy from Nottingham Forest

Some may accuse us of overreacting about a couple of crosses, but Nottingham Forest performed very well in that opening 45 minutes, and were simply let down by a sloppy moment.

The Premier League is no place for mistakes, with fine margins often deciding tight games at this level.

In a relegation battle, the last thing Nuno will want to see is silly decision making, as Nottingham Forest find themselves running out of time to pick up points.

A hugely significant match against Everton now awaits Nottingham Forest next week, so hopefully, some better end product will be on show from the Reds at Goodison Park.
