Newark Town Bowls Club officially opening their green for the season

A district bowls club is welcoming the public to join them in the opening of their bowls green on Saturday, April 20.

Newark Town Bowls club which is located just off London Road not far from the town centre will host a day that will start at 9.45am.

Refreshments will be available from this time and the bar will also be open said a spokesman from the club.

The first wood of the season to be bowled by the longest serving member of the club, Mr Tony Murphy at 10am.

There will then be bowls coaching from 10.15am which will be conducted by John Hope while social bowling will also take place.

At midday, a bowls bash pairs game will take place which will cost £2 for people to enter.

A spokesman from the club said that all are welcome to attend and they were hoping for a good turnout for the day.
