Judge Tanya Chutkan recently handled a Jan. 6 case in which she may have hinted how she wants to handle Donald Trump, according to a reporter on Sunday.

CBS News Congressional Correspondent Scott MacFarlane covered Chutkan's handling of the case of Antony Vo, who was previously found guilty by a jury of participating in the U.S. Capitol Riot. During the sentencing of that case, Chutkan reportedly buried her face in her hands in frustration.

MacFarlane now says that case could have given some insights into Trump's trial, considering the arguments made by Vo's legal team.

According to the reporter, Chutkan, while "awaiting the return of the Trump 2020 election conspiracy case, listened to (and then stopped) another Jan 6 defendant seeking delay."

MacFarlane said that Vo, who was convicted of misdemeanors and asked for sentencing leniency, is a good case study for Chutkan on Trump.

"She dealt with a defendant trying to seek out delays, push back a case, to slow things down; sounds Trump-like," he said. "But also with a defendant who according to Judge Chutkan is defending his actions, or showing a lack of remorse for what happened at the Capitol on January 6th."

Chutkan "unambiguously" rejected the attempt to delay sentencing, according to the reporter. Chutkan also showed little patience for Vo using the term "hostages," which Trump is credited for popularizing.
