Manchester United open to letting £200k-a-week Solskjaer signing leave; West Ham are keen - journalist

Manchester United could be in for a busy summer this year and they could be about to let one of their top earners leave as part of the rebuild.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe now involved in running football matters at Old Trafford, there is a chance we see plenty of movement at United, both in and out.

United fans will be expecting a number of new signings to walk through the door.

However, to enable new signings, a number of players could be forced to leave the club.

Clearing the wage bill a bit is important for United and Ratcliffe as he tries to trim the fat a bit at the club.

And according to journalist Rudy Galetti, one of the club’s highest earners could be sold to West Ham in the summer.

West Ham still want to sign Harry Maguire from Manchester United

Taking to his social media account over on X, journalist Galetti has confirmed that Maguire could be allowed to leave United.

Experienced French defender Raphael Varane is also expected to depart, and it’s suggested Maguire could follow him out of the door, with West Ham again keen.

The Hammers were interested in signing Maguire in the January window but a move fell through.

But now, it looks like it could be back on in the summer as United look to rebuild.

Harry Maguire needs a fresh start and West Ham could provide that

The England defender deserves a lot of credit for how he’s come out of things at Old Trafford.

Often criticised and blamed as a sole reason for United’s short-comings, Maguire – who earns a reported £200k-a-week at United – has simply knuckled down, got on with things, and ended up being a key player for Erik ten Hag.

However, there is also no doubting his time at Old Trafford needs to come to an end.

A move to West Ham would be ideal. A team who can challenge for the European spots, with an experienced and well-liked manager at the helm as well in David Moyes.

Harry Maguire has plenty to offer at his level and it’s not his fault that things have gone down the pan a touch at Old Trafford.

Should West Ham pick Maguire up this summer, then it’s a smart move and one fans should be happy with.
